WINGER – Seven
Il ritorno dei Winger dopo ben nove anni di distanza dal precedente “Better Days Comin’”, con il nuovo album intitolato semplicemente “Seven” perché effettivamente è l’album numero sette della band di Kip Winger. “Proud Desperado” si destreggia tra hard rock trascinante e melodie avvolgenti e “Heaven’s Fallen” incorpora anche riferimenti AOR. Ottimo l’hard rock cadenzato di “Tears Of Blood” con l’ottima voce di Kip Winger e Reb Beach e John Roth svolgono un superlativo guitar work e ancora “Resurrect Me” e “Voodoo Fire”, brani diversi tra loro e anche da ciò che siamo abituai ad ascoltare dai Winger. Ottimi brani sono anche la splendida ballad “Broken Glass” che sa anche emozionare e “Stick The Knife In And Twist”, song esplosiva e forse i Winger non son mai stati così metal e Beach e Roth si sfidano con effervescenti guitar solos. Si arriva verso il finale con “Do Or Die”, splendido brano più articolato e con passaggi strumentali che vanno dall’hard rock, al progressive, all’acustico e all’AOR, “Time Bomb”, dove torna l’hard rock più cadenzato e carismatico e “It All Comes Back Around”, il brano più lungo e con più atmosfere prog ed AOR, più di sette splendidi minuti. Un gradito ritorno e Kip Winger e la sua band sono sempre in grande forma.
