CITY OF LIGHTS – Before The Sun Sets
City Of Lights è la nuova band di Neil Austin, chitarrista e compositore britannico, che insieme a Manos Fatsis, cantante greco, hanno scritto una serie di brani di hard rock melodico e AOR. Ad accompagnarli nei vari brani di “Before The Sun Sets” i fratelli Robin e Mats Eriksson, ovvero la sezione ritmica dei Degreed e una serie di ospiti. Rombi di motori pronte per una corsa, riff di chitarra heavy e tastiere AOR sorreggono la voce di Manos Fatsis e le chitarre di Neil Austin e non mancano tastiere molto AOR , tutto questo nell’opener song “Racing On The Redline” e “Heart’s Of Fire” si arricchisce di tastiere pomp rock, un sound molto anni 80 ma perfetto anche per i giorni nostri e ancora “Emily”, AOR energico e con la giusta melodia. C’è anche “Heat Of The Night” che profuma di Europe, Foreigner e Survivor e “Dying Light” song potente e con grandi linee melodiche che viaggiano contemporaneamente e all’unisono. “How To Love”, la ballad per eccellenza e la title track, “Before The Sun Sets”, con le sue influenze che derivano dagli Styx per le pennellate progressive, chiudono un album piacevole.
