ROCK STORIES – “A little is enough” di Pete Townshend

Il matrimonio di Pete Townshend con la moglie Karen era in crisi, il chitarrista dei The Who si incontrò Adi Irani, il segretario di Meher Baba, che nel 1967 aveva fortemente influito sulla nascita di Tommy. Pete confessò a Irani: “Adi, mia moglie non mi ama più. Che dovrei fare?”
“Non ti ama più per niente?”, rispose Adi.
“Ha detto che mi ama ancora un poco, ma solo un poco”, risposte Pete.
“Ah! Un poco. Bene. L’amore è universale. Senza limiti. Per cui, anche un poco è sufficiente.”

“A little is enough” era la nona traccia di Empty Glass, in classifica si fermò al numero 72, ma Townshend la ritiene la più bella canzone d’amore da lui composta. Fa anche riferimento a Rémy Martin nei testi “Sono come un intenditore di champagne cognac, il profumo quasi batte il gusto.”
